Opportunities For People With Disabilities

Triumph Services is the result of three social service agencies joining together to build a summer camp program. Bridgeway, Inc., KCCDD Inc., and Warren Achievement Center have joined forces for the purpose of creating a high quality camp program, Camp Kidz, which meets the needs and desires of a diverse group of campers. The mission of Camp Kidz is “to promote and nurture the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of persons with disabilities.”
All Knox, Warren, and Henderson County area children with disabilities, ages five through twenty-one years and enrolled in formal education, are eligible to register and attend the summer day camp. The campers at Camp Kidz participate in arts and crafts, field trips around town, swimming, games/sports, music, and visits from special guests.
Through the participation in camp itself the campers are developing stronger social skills as the social contact and interactions amongst the campers and counselors provides a great benefit to the campers. Though the camp is recreational in nature it provides a summer-time link to educational goals and achievements for the participating children.
